Lisa Destefano and Heather Ferrill Elected to the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Osteopathy
Apr 11, 2011 1:00 AMLisa A. Destefano, D.O., was re-elected to a three-year term on the Board of Governors at the annual membership meeting of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) in Colorado Springs, CO, March 16.
Dr. DeStefano graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM) in 1993. She is an Assistant Professor and Chair in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) at MSUCOM. She is also Program Director of the Neuromusculoskeletal Residency, and one of eight clinical faculty at MSUCOM’s OMM clinic. Dr. DeStefano is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromuskuloskeletal Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She is a member of the AAO Strategic Planning and C-NMM/OMM Committees and also serves on the American Osteopathic Board of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.
Heather P. Ferrill, D.O., was elected to a one-year term on the Board of Governors at the annual membership meeting of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) in Colorado Springs, CO, March 16.
Dr. Ferrill graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000. She completed her internship at Mercy General Health Partners in Muskegon, MI, and her residency at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she is currently an Associate Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine. Board certified in Family Practice and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, her practice emphasizes Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment in the pediatric population. Dr. Ferrill also has a special interest in the osteopathic management of headache, vision and dental issues, and is currently involved in osteopathic educational research.
