Gillespie Named Chief Resident
Dec 1, 2011 1:00 AMBenjamin T. Gillespie, D.O., has been named chief resident physician for the University of Minnesota’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residency program. His responsibilities now include coordinating medical student instruction, managing resident schedules and participating in the interview process for medical students applying for residency positions.
Gillespie, a 1997 graduate of Okemos High School, earned his medical degree from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009. Following graduation he completed a one-year internship at Garden City Hospital located in Garden City, Michigan.
The son of Meridian Township residents Ed and Becky Gillespie, he’s presently completing his second year of a three-year PM&R residency program working out of four major hospitals in the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
