2022 MOCF Ball

Given the current trends in the COVID-19 pandemic statewide and nationally, the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Michigan Osteopathic College Foundation leadership have decided to cancel this year's MOCF gala. The questions surrounding the Omicron variant, vaccine efficacy against it, as well as recent record infection rates would pose too many direct and indirect risks to event attendees.  While we were all looking forward to our annual celebration of the osteopathic profession and of our college, and have already invested significant effort in the planning of the event, it is the right thing to do.

We can feel secure that the goals and spirit of the MOCF gala will continue unabated, including ongoing financial support of students with economic need and of current MSUCOM students participating in countless educational opportunities. Your financial contributions to the annual gala have always been, and continue to be, greatly appreciated.

While we will incur some financial losses due to the cancellation of the gala, all proceeds from contributions received for the 2022 MOCF Ball will go towards the MOCF Endowment at Michigan State University, which provides scholarships and educational programming within the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. In addition to the received gift credit for their contributions, all supporters of the 2022 MOCF will continue to be acknowledged on our website. We hope our esteemed supporters and sponsors will maintain this year’s financial commitments to help our students in the mission of becoming world-class osteopathic professionals. If you have any questions regarding your contributions for this year’s event, please contact us.

Thank you again for all your positive thoughts and understanding. Please look for future announcements regarding MOCF/MSUCOM initiatives and events.

Andrea Amalfitano, D.O., Ph.D.

The MOCF Ball has helped to enrich the MOCF endowment at Michigan State University by adding nearly $4.5 million in net proceeds that provide student scholarships and educational programming within the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. This would not be possible without the many generous supporters of this event.
