Student Impact

Creating the next generation of DOs

Here at the College of Osteopathic Medicine, it’s our mission to provide the best medical education possible to aspiring students looking to become DOs. Since our beginnings in 1969, we’ve graduated nearly 7,000 new osteopathic physicians, the majority of them staying within our great state. As a college, the heart of what we do is to ensure that each new generation of physicians exemplifies the osteopathic philosophy – treating patients with empathy and respect; with a whole-person view on providing quality and compassionate health care to all.

Much of this could not be possible without the financial support from many of you – our alumni, donors and friends.

This year has been remarkably different, to say the least. Not only has it changed the way we’ve been educating our students, but how we’ve been interacting with all of our great partners. And while in years past, we’ve been able to celebrate these partnerships and the osteopathic profession overall, with our in-person Michigan Osteopathic College Foundation (MOCF) Ball, this year continues to evolve quickly with many challenges, so our next event will be different.

Today, we are launching the Michigan Osteopathic College Foundation Student Impact Initiative, a virtual fundraising campaign designed to provide critical and continued support to our college and students. This campaign supports student scholarships, student-related activities, post-graduate medical education and community outreach efforts, all integral programs that help us continue our mission and educate our students. To learn more about where your dollars go, take a look below.

And while there won’t be an MOCF Ball in February, please mark your calendar to join us for a virtual event scheduled for Saturday, February 27 at 5:00pm. More details to come.

As a current or past donor, alumni and friend, I ask that you consider becoming part of this important endeavor. You have been a vital part of our success in the past, and we hope that you will remain with us as we move forward into the future.
