College of Osteopathic Medicine Class of 2026 Convocation Ceremony

The Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine Convocation Ceremony is a significant milestone in a medical student’s career.  It symbolizes and is a recognition of the student's professionalism, dedication, and commitment to serve. It is a time to celebrate the students, their family and friends, and all those whose steadfast support helped make their achievements possible.

The Convocation / White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at the MSU Breslin Center on the East Lansing campus (534 Birch Road, East Lansing, MI 48824).  Deanna Ingrassia Miano, D.O. ('21) will be keynote speaker.

No tickets or RSVP are necessary. 

Doors open at 12:30. Ceremony will last for approximately two hours. For those that are unable to attend, MSU WKAR will be providing live streaming of the event. Link will be provided the week of the ceremony.

Seating is first-come, first-serve at the Breslin Center. For family members seeking use of a wheelchair, please go to Guest Services at the south entrances of the Breslin Center by section #118 for assistance. A family member will need to leave their drivers licenses at Guest Services in exchange for a wheelchair and then proceed to Lot #126 to pick up the family member. One family member may accompany each person in the platform seating areas. Platform seating is located on the Concourse Level (street entrance).

Parking is available in designated ramp and parking lots adjacent to the Breslin Center on Harrison Road. Disabled parking accommodations are located at the nearest entrance of Breslin Center – Lot #126 off of Shaw Lane. Vehicles must have a State of Michigan (or other state) permit hanger or license plate.

The MSU Breslin Center Bag Policy prohibits bags and purses. For those that have special needed items such as diapers, wipes, bottles, medicine, etc., diaper bags will be permitted. For any items such as inhaler, keys, cell phone, etc., place in a clear zip-lock bag. Police will check bags at arrival, including camera bags. Metal detectors are at each entrance into the Breslin Center and strollers will have to be checked.
