About Dr. Matemavi

Dr. Praise Matemavi is an MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine alum.  She is the 2020 recipient of MSU Young Alumni Award, 2010 recipient of MSUCOM Walter C. Mill, D.O., F.A.C.O.S. Award of Excellence in Surgery, among many other awards. She is currently an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and the editor of "Passion and Purpose, Black Female Surgeons."  Dr. Matemavi is one of the first and few black women transplant surgeons in America.
