Financial Aid

The MSU Office of Financial Aid assists students in the medical colleges by distributing financial aid information, coordinating financial aid workshops and providing individualized financial aid counseling.


MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine students can apply for over $2.8 million in college scholarships. About 150 scholarships are awarded each year, and incoming students through fourth-year students are eligible.

The College Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and makes decisions on awards. The comittee is comprised of faculty and staff from each of our three sites.

By filling out the scholarship form you are applying to all scholarships you are eligible for and the scholarship committee will select the best applicant for each award.

Applying for Scholarships

  1. First, familiarize yourself with the scholarships
  2. Then fill out the application form in its entirety and submit for committee review.

Once you’ve completed the application, the committee will meet to review your information. Scholarships are effective starting the following fall semester.

Letters of Support

Some scholarships require a letter of recommendation from someone outside of the college (e.g. a D.O., someone who knows you well, etc.) The College Scholarship Committee may request that you provide letters of support for scholarships. Letters should be submitted directly by the letter writer to

We try to send a notification to you regarding the awards by May of the application cycle.
