International Applicants

Michigan State University has a long tradition of welcoming international students, and since its establishment at the university in 1969, the College of Osteopathic Medicine has supported that tradition as reflected in our vision statement:

To prepare physicians in the science of medicine, the art of caring and the power of touch, with a world view open to all people.

Applying to MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine

Individuals who are not United States citizens or permanent residents of the United States are evaluated as international applicants.

All international applicants use the same application service, follow the same application processes, and must demonstrate completion of all the same requirements as United States citizens and permanent residents. International applicants must also complete additional verification of academic credentials, verification of financial resources, and verification of English language proficiency.

Those candidates who completed coursework outside of the United States or Canada, or who completed coursework at a Canada university where the language of instruction was not English, must submit official course by course evaluations through a recognized academic evaluation service such as World Education Services (WES). Individuals with questions about the acceptability of a service should contact the College of Osteopathic Medicine office of Admissions.
