Selection Process

Before you Apply

Apply

  • Complete the AACOMAS application.
  • Once your AACOMAS application is received, you will be invited to complete the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine secondary application.

After you Apply

After the office of admissions receives these materials, the applicant’s file is screened by an admissions representative to determine eligibility for an invitation to interview.

The admissions team evaluates applications based on several criteria deemed important to the mission of the college, including but not limited to: academic success, MCAT performance, exposure to the osteopathic profession, professional and community service experience, personal testimony and letters of evaluation.

The admissions committee is comprised of College of Osteopathic Medicine representatives with roles in pre-clerkship and clerkship education, including physicians, academic support professionals, administrative leaders and students. Intentional misrepresentation or omission of information on any form relevant to admissions or records will subject the student to immediate withdrawal of acceptance or dismissal (if already enrolled).

Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine reserves the right to deny admission to any applicant for any reason deemed sufficient. Matriculation will be denied to applicants who have failed to maintain good records of scholastic performance and/or good records of personal conduct between the time of their acceptance and their matriculation.
