Carolina Restini is an Associate Professor and Thread Director for Pharmacology in the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology.  Her main areas of expertise are medical pharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, hypertension, pharmacoepidemiology, and healthcare education.

Dr. Restini is a full-time faculty in the D.O. program. She supports the longitudinal integration of foundational pharmacology content into systems courses, primarily within the pre-clerkship portion at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Her research projects are grounded in community-based medical education to integrate teaching/research with core pharmacology concepts. The cornerstone of these projects is the extramural collaborations aiming to enhance curricular integrational actions and generates projects through which osteopathic medicine principles guide holistic teaching. Medical students generate science while serving communities through pharmacology, basic sciences and educational research projects.  Dr. Restini is the research support for the college’s sites at the Macomb University Center and the Detroit Medical Center.
