Shawn Olds

Shawn serves as the Department Course Assistant in Osteopathic Surgical Specialties.  Prior to joining OSS, Shawn worked at MSU Sports Medicine for a total of 11 years as a surgery scheduler, rotation coordinator and front office assistant. She worked closely with student athletes, medical students and residents.

Shawn attained her certification as a Medical Assistant, completed her business degree and started a landscaping business in 2006 (her passion is gardening).  She enjoys the satisfaction of working with 3^rd and 4^th year medical students, helping them reach their dreams.  On a side note, Shawn has received numerous emails from students titled: Dr. Olds and just for a moment she realizes how special that sounds, before she corrects the student that the only Dr. Olds she knows is her father-in-law, who is a retired pediatrician. 

She is a true spartan at heart!  Go Green – Go White!
