Assistant Professor

Dr Burghardt went to medical school at UTSOM in Toledo, OH and trained in neurology and epilepsy/neurophysiology at Detroit Medical Center. He is assistant professor at MSU and is director of the neurophysiology fellowship and assistant director of the epilepsy fellowship. His interests are in conversion disorder, critical care EEG monitoring, and computational modeling.

Mary Katherine (MK) is a dedicated mental health professional with a background in neuropsychology, developmental disabilities, and psychotherapy. Her skill sets include psychological assessments, diagnostics, and effective treatment plans. Her mission is to provide a safe, confidential, and empathetic environment where students can feel comfortable exploring thoughts, behaviors, and emotions openly on their journey to personal wellness.

Chairperson

Dr. Butki serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Osteopathic Medical Specialties, Section of Emergency Medicine. He teaches cross-curricular in multiple courses and is the course director for the emergency medicine core and elective rotations. He also serves as the Residency Program Director for the emergency medicine residency at McLaren Oakland and serves as the Lead Program Director for the emergency medicine section of the State Wide Campus System.

Scott A Carlson DO MPH is the current Medical Director and Associate Professor in the MSU-College of Osteopathic Medicine, Department of Physician Assistant medicine. He is a 1982 graduate of MSU-COM and is Board Certified in General Practice. His career spanned thirty-seven years in a private independent practice in Grand Rapids Michigan. Ashley Carmichael is the Pathway Programs Coordinator; she works with both Post-Secondary and K-12 Pathway programs at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ashley has served with the Pathway Programs since 2022. She is passionate about providing unique experiences to young people and assisting them on their education journey.
