Dean's Office Communication on COVID-19 - 2020-03-14

Dear COM faculty, staff and students,

Based on President Stanley’s email, we will continue to make academic/curricular adjustments for online student learning beyond April 20th and now extend our efforts through the end of the semester. As these changes occur, we will alert students by email and post information to the Pre-clerkship and Clerkship Coronavirus D2L sites, as well as provide updated class-specific information on the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine website.

To our Class of 2020 students: We understand that postponing commencement will not be feasible as many of you move on to the next stage of your careers. As such, we are currently exploring alternative options to celebrate your achievement and will have more details to share in the near future.

For faculty and staff: Prior guidance to maximize off-campus work capacity is still in effect. A new FAQ document is now available on the MSU Employee Resources site to help answer questions. Also, members of the HT clinical staff should await new guidance on additional precautions for caregivers being instituted over the next 48 hours.

I truly appreciate your patience as we continue to communicate with you as quickly as possible and am grateful for all of your efforts to ensure a healthy and safe environment.

Sincerely,

Andrea Amalfitano D.O., Ph.D.
Dean, College of Osteopathic Medicine
