Ruger earns international endorsement

Katherine Ruger, Ed.D. and associate dean of admissions and student life in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, is among an elite group of individuals who has earned an international endorsement from the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, or AACRAO.

She is one of 32 individuals who has received the Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement, an honor which recognizes exceptional work that meets the current and future challenges of the industry. The endorsement is a one-of-a-kind credential in the field and provides assurance of a strong foundation and understanding of enrollment management functions in higher education.

Ruger has served the College of Osteopathic Medicine for more than a decade and has provided leadership over several divisions of the college including pre-college programs, recruitment and admissions, wellness & counseling, and student leadership and engagement. During her tenure, she has led multiple initiatives to improve departmental efficiency, increase the enrollment of mission‐fit candidates and enhance the overall applicant and student experience.

Ruger earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northwood University, master’s degree in counseling from Wayne State University, and a doctoral degree in education with a focus on organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.

AACRAO is a non‐profit, voluntary, professional association of more than 11,000 higher education professionals representing approximately 2,600 institutions in more than 40 countries. AACRAO's Strategic Enrollment Management Endorsement Program provides a well‐defined,self‐paced professional development program and career advancement track for in‐service enrollment service professionals.
